While the serious, business-minded e-books news continues to unfold at a rapid pace, I thought I’d take a moment to show a creative insight into what books can be. And this one is simple, doable, and doesn’t change the nature of the reading experience: the digital book cover. Instead of just a static cover, why not have something that’s animated or video? And if all covers are as elegant as this clip, I say bring ‘em on!

Awesome! That was cute.
Ooh! I think this would be a neat idea, especially for children's books. As long as you could skip past the cover instead of having to watch the whole thing every time (and I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to just turn the e-page), it could be an awesome idea!
I like this better than book trailers for advertising the book, as well.
I'm incredibly excited at the notion of so many mediums blending. Text, images, animation, video…there's a world of possibilities yet to be explored, but they're right around the corner.
I like the idea. The possiblities it opens are endless.
