My top favs here are BUSYTOWN, RAMONA QUIMBY, AGE 8, and THE GREAT GATSBY (a brilliant book that makes me miserable every time I read it, much like 1984).

I’ve given you lots of Aussie recs lately, so let’s try British. Have you read Scarlett Thomas? She recently came out with a book called The Seed Collectors that I liked quite a bit. Also check out Hester and Harriet by Hilary Spiers. Lovely, warm, gorgeous novel about two older women in a tiny English village who take in a refugee and her baby off the streets.

Recent (for me) grownup book the rocked my world: We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver. Oh, I\’d add Olive Kitteridge as well. Gah! Gotta stop. I loved Jane Eyre and The Secret History as well. I\’ve been meaning to read McCann (and some of the others). Time to move him up!Have a wonderful day! :)
