First of all, my heart goes out to you in losing your dear friend and for all the other life changing losses you\’ve experienced the last few years. These moments remind us of the amazing love that ends a life, but never a love. Thanksgiving for us was about learning to teach a younger generation how to cook a menu of traditional dishes.
We joined forces with a next door neighbor and respectfully taught 4 young women – 11, 13, 18, 20 the ‘how to’ make a menu, create a grocery list, stagger the dishes based on the equipment at hand, the domino effect and cresendo of delivering a perfectly lovely dinner for 7 at the harvest table. It was great.
Then, we said prayer and went around the room to express more fully what we were thankful for individually. This moment was proceeded with a turkey coloring contest, firepit, wine, stroll to see the full moon and then dessert. Goodbyes meant walking through a back yard gate from one back door to another. Couldn\’t ask for a better time of friendship and abundance.
