THANK YOU so very much for your article referencing being “responsible for one’s own story,” and the guts required to share said story.

As people read my new coming-of-age memoir, I am buffeted all over the place mentally and emotionally by the varying responses, which range from “I love it” TO “as every chapter demonstrates, life is not a cakewalk,” to “you sure swear a lot” TO “you sure are angry,” TO “this is AMAZING.”

Just yesterday, I had a conversation with my former therapist about feeling exposed and even remorseful! And THEN, this morning, I happened to find the above article from June, 2015. The entire experience from soup to nuts is, in the end, character building.
