We have a small house and our bookshelves are stuffed, but our couch is a rather elegant futon, so there’s space under it. We’ve piled all our oversized books under it in neat piles and it looks rather nice. People often comment on it. So if you haven’t used the space under your couch, I recommend it. Of course, with a normal couch, you probably wouldn’t be able to see them, which has its pluses and minuses.
