I made the mistake of choosing the following New Year’s Resolution: read one hundred pages a day. I haven’t missed a day. I get two weeks off: one at a writers conference in two weeks (I’m a workshop leader this year) and one the following week, when I’m with my niece and nephew. The Lorax twenty times counts, doesn’t it?

I hunt for book lists everywhere. Next year, audiobooks will count or I’ll give myself a day off or something. Oy.

It’s nice to have that sort of familiarity with the world and characters sometimes, especially if I want to relax.
