A good portion of my reading is on the SFF side, and so far this year I’ve really enjoyed THE WISE MAN’S FEAR by Patrick Rothfuss and DEADLINE by Mira Grant. The first I could see as being more likely to end up on this sort of list, as it’s a little more “literary” and the other would probably be disparaged by virtue of being a “zombie book” (even though it’s incredible–and this is from someone who hates zombie stuff most of the time). Both are also sequels.
