Okay, I admit I get so much inspiration from watching tv. We don't watch an inordinate amount, but the shows we do watch, we're pretty enthusiastic about. And how did I not know you liked Battlestar Galactica? Just another awesome thing we have in common. Or dorky thing. I guess it depends on your perspective. :)

My TV is not hooked up to anything. We have it for DVDs which we watch about...oh, maybe four times a year (we have to dust it off first). However, I know I could totally get hooked on TV if I had the BBC and then who would do the writing?

The comment I left on the post above this one is about acting and writing and how they are connected, so it's no wonder writers and people in the publishing biz tend to love TV.

I've always thought you are as smart as you think you are.

I am a writer and an avid reader, but I, too, love TV. I don't follow trends like the supposedly unscripted reality shows that only strengthen the image of the idiot American & I find most sit-coms to be maddeningly stupid, though Modern Family is an absolute riot. I tend to enjoy smartly written shows but admit to recently becoming addicted to Spartacus. I think most people enjoy TV and likely watch more than they admit to. How else could a program like Cougar Town enjoy such high ratings? I always look forward to the new Fall lineups, setting my DVR to record everything that looks interesting. Unfortunately, most of those end up disappointing me. But through all my TV watching, I always keep an open book in my lap because that's where the best entertainment always remains & it rarely disappoints.
