I would hope you look at the reviews coming from some in the African American community on the book "THE HELP." And also the relative silence. I think that's telling. Personally, I didn't care for the book. There is so much more to us that playing the noble woman or brassy loudmouth. I'd also like to add, that while some readers may feel the novel was heartwarming (I've seen such reviews), for those whose families are still going through the pain and rejection of that era, there was nothing remotely heartwarming about the book.
