Yes, that sometimes meant appealing to the least common denominator, but in this business, our goal is to sell books. And that’s what she did.

It does strike me that although the OJ book should probably never have been contracted as it was written and presented (talk about lack of taste), once they got to that media point, the way everybody involved started backing up and covering their asses was sort of amazing.

Tax write-off time, I guess. If that thing had hit the bookstores, I think it would have sold a ton. Of course, a lot of bookstores were refusing to handle it or were turning their profits from it over to women’s shelters, etc.

In some ways I’m sorry it didn’t get published. I wouldn’t have bought it, but for just a little while there, the rest of the country was paying attention to something that was going on in the publishing industry. Just for a little while…

Wally Lamb and Jenna Jameson... those are my two favorite authors!

Okay, maybe not Jenna, but I loved... I mean loved both of Wally Lamb's works. I had no idea they came from Reganbooks.

And it is strange that they would end the entire line after cutting Judith. Maybe those in charge thought the O.J. thing had left such a bad impression on the public that anything remotely associated to Reganbooks would be tainted.
